It was a feast for the eyes and the stomachs on Tuesday night at A Joy Wallace Catering Production & Design Team's warehouse. Planners were led on the "Tour du Joy" through her stock of decor, backup equipment, rentals, linens, and more. In one of the five rooms of the expansive property, Joy Wallace had a showroom set up with samples of her decor and design capabilities, including fully set dinner tables and accent display platforms.
As guests entered the main warehouse, they were met with an overwhelming selection of global cheeses to sample. From there, they continued the tour through the coolers and freezer, where a selection of ceviches was available, and into the commissary, where main courses of tenderloin and red snapper were prepared fresh for guests as they came through.Throughout each of the separate warehouses, waiters passed out a variety of hors d'oeuvres to guests. Shrimp spring rolls, sweet potato and walnut beignets, and chorizo and beef empanadas were among the choices.
The Tour du Joy ended in the Arctic Palace, a large temporary structure constructed by EventStar. White draping lined the ceiling and walls of the space, creating a winter wonderland where guests enjoyed Wallace's frozen dessert offerings, which included key lime pie ice cream sandwiches.
