MAPS Studios, the photo studio and production facility for Mobile Art Production Services, opened for private events in September. Owned by Paul Lardi, the warehouse in South Beach’s South of Fifth neighborhood has 7,000 square feet of event space available for groups as large as 275.
On Collins Avenue, MAPS consists of two conjoined 3.500-square-foot photo studios—aptly named Studio A and Studio B. Cement floors, exposed ceilings, and wood detailing contribute to Studio A’s industrial atmosphere. The mezzanine level overlooking the 625-square-foot all-white shooting space on the first floor can host 20 at long communal table or 30 for receptions. Both levels used together can host 200 for receptions.
Studio B has a more open floor plan than Studio A and is dubbed a “daylight studio” due to its four skylights and numerous windows. On the first floor, Studio B has more than 2,000 square feet of event space for groups of 75.
The two studios each have a makeup and styling area, a kitchen, and wireless Internet throughout. A list of preferred caterers is available, though outside caterers are allowed.
