Talk about eclectic. Rubber Monkey is a new bar/dance club/cabaret space/tapas lounge with decor as varied as its many functions. (Where else in Manhattan would you find striped wallpaper, a ram's head and photos of Josephine Baker?) The TriBeCa venue includes a small bar area, a back room with tables and a small stage, and a downstairs lounge area (think your parents' basement). Plus: A sound and lighting system and two DJ booths. The entire place accommodates 250.
