Here's a quickie alternative to catering for a small party: David Burke's Gourmet Pops are single servings of smoked salmon, foie gras or goat cheese--served on a stick, popsicle-style--which arrive frozen and ready to serve after a 30-minute thaw at room temperature. They're not for a hoity-toity party, of course, but they can bring a fun touch to a small meeting. And Burke, formerly a chef at Park Avenue Caf?, packs a lot of flavor into the bite-sized balls. (The duck foie gras pop is made with white truffle oil, dipped in port wine cranberry jelly and rolled in black pepper and fresh chives.) Prices range from $18 to $22 per dozen and sticks can be personalized with a company logo or message. --Jill Musguire (Photo courtesy of Gourmet Pops)
