Event marketing is more necessary than ever, according to EventView ’05, the annual survey sponsored by the George P. Johnson Company and Meeting Professionals International. Ninety-three percent of marketing managers say the importance of event marketing is up or stable, and as many respondents reported that they increased or maintained their event budgets over the year. According to the survey event marketing accounts for 27 percent of overall marketing budgets, up from 21 percent last year. More than half say it is a lead tactic or a vital component of their marketing plan.
