Explore the social and historical relevance of an important design element at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum's "Fashion in Color" exhibit, which includes a collection of 60 garments—spanning 300 years of fashion history—grouped by color. In the blue series, an elegant, pale blue brocaded silk taffeta gown from 18th-century England (left) is displayed with a Balenciaga baby doll dress. A modern creation from Viktor & Rolf is included in the black series, along with a 19th-century French riding outfit. The show opens on December 9 and continues through March 26. For a $10,000 rental fee, corporate groups may entertain at the museum (which features menus and service from Catering by Restaurant Associates) and have access to the exhibition. —Mark Mavrigian
