In addition to environmentally friendly clothing and housewares, the Organic Avenue boutique now offers event catering that’s equally conscious. Nutrient-packed dishes include sunflower falafel, marinated mushroom rolls, jicama “rawvioli” prepared with basil hemp-seed pesto, and faux Reuben sandwiches on flax-onion bread, not to mention the store’s freshly made fruit and vegetable juices. Desserts made without artificial sweeteners—blueberry pie and fruit and nut bars—are also available. All of the firm’s foods are vegan, organic, and never heated above 115 degrees.
