The long-awaited stateside debut of Japanese mega-retailer Muji lands downtown today, bringing with it an astounding array of what it calls “no-brand quality goods.” The new SoHo shop has 3,200 square feet of reasonably priced, design-conscious products, including stationery, furniture, fabric, and housewares, in addition to apparel and appliances. Expect useful porcelain bowls and plastic containers, multi-usage shelving, and streamlined furnishings, as well as retractable pencils.
