Fashion Week is upon us. And even if you're not in the fashion industry and have no interest in what's on the runway, you should still pay attention to these events. First, they're a lesson in what's hot in special events. After all, where the fashionistas frolic, the rest of the event flock often follows. Second, they like to be on the cutting edge of design, obviously, so they're a good source of ideas.
The whirlwind week is also a lesson in gussying up a conference or meeting. If you think about it, Fashion Week really is just a drawn-out, champagne-soaked, air-kiss-filled industry trade show. The fashionistas just do it in stillettos.
So here are our reports from the Fashion Week front. And check out our listings of the shows and related parties on our event calendar. --Chad Kaydo
