Food and drinks were the forefront at Departures magazine's Best of British Excellence shopping night at Dunhill's Fifth Avenue store. While guests (platinum and centurion American Express cardholders) meandered the store, Olivier Cheng Catering and Events passed hors d'oeuvres including beef wrapped in arugula and crabcakes. An original and functional presentation was lamb loin served on rosemary skewers—alleviating the use of toothpicks—to dip in mint chutney.
The store's cigar room was opened up for guests to enjoy a complimentary stogie, and a mock-up of the Blue Bar in London's Berkeley Hotel was created and served a strict drink menu: martinis only.
Departures hosted similar events at Asprey, Holland & Holland and John Lobb during the night.
