Sure, she’s entertained us with one racy sex tape and three seasons of reality TV, and flashed her signature pout (or more) at thousands of red carpet appearances. But what has Paris Hilton done for us lately? Lest her celebrity grow stale, she’s launched an eponymous fragrance line, and hosted an all-pink party at new Chelsea hotspot Duvet to kick it off. The look? Think Barbie Dream House meets Vegas nightclub.
Zoe Bartels, Parlux Fragrances’ vice president of advertising and events, and Harrison & Shriftman produced the party, with adhesive wrap covering tulip vases to match the pink and black striped fragrance bottle. Billowy white fabric tied with pink silk flowers draped the venue’s signature bed-style seating areas (a decor touch that looked positively bridal—but wait, isn’t that look more suited to sister Nicky?). Paris’ name in graffiti plastered a wall above the venue’s main staircase (how tagging befits an heiress we couldn’t figure out, but it was a cool look nonetheless), complementing the Paris Hilton-branded backdrop above the pink carpet for arrivals. Duvet’s catering menu included passed hors d’oeuvres like shrimp and chicken skewers.
In addition to the perfume, each black and pink gift bag included a Paris Pink shade of Essie nail polish, a pink can of Sofia Coppola bubbly with a pink straw, pink lipgloss, and an “I Love Paris” T-shirt. No one ever called Hilton subtle, although her surprisingly tasteful fragrance may be.
