In addition to his place on the Bowery, Seth Greenberg of Capitale now has a Midtown West spot, which officially opened last week. Espace, a modern and flexible space adjacent to the new Atelier condo tower, is designed to accommodate a range events, including fashion shows, press conferences, concerts, and benefits. Similar in style to the residential building next door, the venue is accented with marble floors, Venetian plaster, tiger wood, and glass. With 10,000 usable square feet and a capacity for 500 seated or 1,000 for receptions, the event site offers a front reception area, a main room, two greenrooms, a large on-site kitchen, and multiple bathrooms. There's also a backstage entrance with direct access to the greenrooms as well as drive-in access to the main space and an upper level where the DJ booth and lighting and sound board are housed.
Lighting, video, staging, sound, and rigging are handled by BML Blackbird, which has an exclusive deal with the space. Built specifically for events, the venue has a lighting truss (which can be removed), multiple power outlets, and a steel grid in the ceiling that allows planners to suspend lighting, sound, and other equipment.
As a full-service catering operation, Espace handles the food service, although outside kosher caterers are permitted. The venue also provides chairs and tables.
