1. Formerly the city’s convention center and home to the Miss America pageant, Boardwalk Hall received a $90 million restoration completed in 2001. In addition to the 41,750-square-foot main arena, which has LED video screens, and a 100- by 50-foot stage, the hall offers a ballroom for 3,200 and the 40-person Musician’s Balcony.
2. For a little bit of history, take over the Absecon Lighthouse, a 153-year-old site. Named for the island on which Atlantic City is located, this state-owned landmark lends itself out for events, with rental fees going to the nonprofit that operates the venue. On offer are the Keeper’s Cottage, which holds 60 for receptions, and a two-acre lawn that can be tented.
3. In nearby Egg Harbor City, the Renault Winery is one of the oldest commercial wineries in New Jersey and sits on 1,400 acres of land. In addition to the vineyard, the winery offers two restaurants and an 18-hole course. Less than half an hour from Atlantic City, the tranquil spot has 10,000 square feet of space for events and meetings.
