B.R. Guest Restaurant Group expanded its all-American beer-and-burger concept last week with the opening of Bill's Bar & Burger Rockefeller Center, an oversize spin-off of its popular spot in the meatpacking district. In the midst of high-end eateries like Brasserie Ruhlmann and Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, this new restaurant location provides a casual alternative for Midtown lunch meetings, with one level available for sizable groups.
Set in the 51st Street space formerly home to Tuscan Square, the 10,000-square-foot, bilevel restaurant has 400 seats, with a full bar on each level. The venue replicates the downtown location’s classic tavern aesthetic with dark wood bars, red leather booths, and gingham checkered tablecloths, accompanied here by graffiti art and wall murals from local artists like Dan Clements and Mark Newgarden.
Amped-up pub grub like chicken B.L.T.s, blackened mahimahi tacos, and horseradish potato skins are on the menu alongside the restaurant’s signature item—a fresh-ground Pat LaFrieda burger served on a toasted sesame bun. Specialty milk shakes incorporate ingredients like banana, toasted fluff, and peanut butter, while 80 draft and bottled beer selections include a custom brew from Brooklyn’s Sixpoint Brewery served only at this location.
For private groups, the 4,866-square-foot street-level space is available for buyout, while the concourse level always remains open to the public.
