Developed by food marketing firm Intellivent Group, the Kitchen NYC is a new facility designed specifically for marketers, offering a dedicated location for product testing and demonstrations, tastings and culinary seminars, and corporate events. The 7,500-square-foot Midtown site consists of two separate kitchen studios and a tasting room, with additional areas for food prep and storage. The Kitchen NYC opened in December.
Each studio is fitted with different kitchen equipment. One offers commercial-grade gear, including Viking stoves, a full-size combination oven from Rational Cooking systems, and two Traulsen reach-in refrigerators, while the other is more residential in style, with G.E. appliances. Both are open-plan spaces, set up for showcases, demos, and teambuilding classes, but they can also be used for receptions and seated functions. A video production suite on site is available for the recording of live shoots, video streaming, and post-production editing.
Adjacent to the kitchens is a tasting room, which with a wall of wine bottles and two 50-inch LCD TVs is suited for presentations, as well as food and wine pairings. The section seats 20 or, when combined with a studio, holds as many as 80 for cocktail-style events.
