Just one block from the new Mondrian Soho in a somewhat quiet area downtown, the SoHo Loft Gallery made its debut in early May as an exhibition space for contemporary photography and a site for small corporate events. As 100 percent of the proceeds from rentals benefit Project Migration, an organization that provides clean water and medical supplies to those living in poverty in Africa, the SoHo Loft Gallery gives planners an automatic charitable tie-in for event, without any legwork.
Measuring 1,500 square feet, the sixth-floor loft is simple in design, with wooden floors, a wall of large windows, and chalkboard walls that can be customized for gatherings. An on-site kitchen is available for catering prep and a subwoofer sound system connected to Sonos equipment that can be controlled through a computer or iPad. Furniture can be provided and so can photographic art to display on the walls.
