Although it has already been used by Land Rover, Alice & Olivia, and the New York City Wine & Food Festival, west Chelsea venue Highline Stages only officially opened this month. The facility inside the historic C.E.C.O. Building sits less than a block east of the High Line and is designed for photo and film shoots as well as corporate and nonprofit functions, and has a total of 45,000 square feet available.
Divided into several studios, Highline Stages offers large freight elevators, grid-equipped stages, and large cycloramas. The raw, industrial-looking ground-floor space, known as Stage D, is the primary site for events, with drive-in capability, entrances on the north and south sides of the building, a mezzanine area for a DJ booth, and original cobblestone floors. The other floors are sleeker, with polished concrete floors and white-washed brick walls.
