As the official hotel of the annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show for the past 16 years, Affinia Manhattan knows how to create a warm welcome for pets. Located across the street from show venue Madison Square Garden, the hotel turned a terrace suite into a VIPaws Suite, offering an outdoor play area, treadmills, chew toys, and treats for dogs and their owners. The complimentary suite was open for three days.

The hotel used the event to promote its pet-friendly VIPaws program, which provides toys, a bed, a water bowl, and a Doggie Delights menu that includes beef tips, sliced steak, and grilled steak.

At the Wags and Wines Reception, dogs were welcomed by play stations designed by Architecture for Dogs, a fashion display of protective outerwear for pets from Spot the Dog, and other treats. The hotel also collected donations for the Humane Society of New York.

Product samples in the suite included several flavors of the energy bar YaffBars, which is intended for both dogs and their owners.
