If none of your upcoming events call for a trip to the Mediterranean, Medi, the new Tuscan-Provencal restaurant from Roberto Ruggeri of the Bice Group and famed chef Roger Verge, is the closest you might get. Surrounded by mostly Restaurant Associates venues in Rockefeller Center, Medi stands out with sun-yellow and sea-blue decor inside, and a patio that faces the plaza outside (we're told heat lamps will make it a prime spot for Christmas tree viewing during the winter). The interior seats 150, and the patio can hold 76. The restaurant, which can be rented in sections or in its entirety, will offer tasting menus for sit-down affairs and more than 100 kinds of hors d'oeuvres for cocktail parties. Prices to close out the entire space start at $12,000. (But whatever you decide, be sure to try the ricotta and spinach ravioli in truffle butter--it's perfectly delicious). --Suzanne Ito
