The legendary Waldorf=Astoria completed the final renovations to its 18th floor early last week, unveiling a recreated Starlight Roof ballroom and a new Executive Meeting Center with 13 break-out rooms. The well-known 6,000-square-foot ballroom now showcases its original Art Deco decor, and the hotel has restored vintage touches including oversized windows, nickel and brass railings in the mezzanine and a grilled ceiling treatment that once filtered actual starlight from above. The wraparound terrace is once again landscaped and lit. But even in its throwback to the past, the Waldorf didn't forget about technology: direct satellite and Internet access has been wired into the space. Events have access to 18th-floor-only technical services, concierge and kitchen staffs. The venue can seat 600.
