On New Year's Eve, Chicago-based artist collective and production company Canvas hosted a bash called "Voyager." Held at Moonlight Studios, the event was meant to evoke an otherworldly space, and the DJ booth was constructed out of glowing green materials that resembled moon rocks.

The splashy, upscale launch party for Plum Miami, a Miami-based luxury lifestyle magazine, took place in 2011 at Raleigh. The DJ booth was set on top of the pool's diving board, with water cascading down from it.

At the Coachella festival in 2014, Forever 21 hosted its so-called “Party in the Sky,” where two cranes hoisted the event’s DJ booth into the air. The booth was made out of a shipping container painted in bright neon colors.

AOL hosted its first-ever Future Front on September 28 at Pier 36/Basketball City in New York. The event's focal installation was a three-story DJ tower that housed five DJs in cubes playing hip-hop, electronic, Top 40, rock, and throwback-style tunes. Built with scaffolding, the tower featured shifting light, music, and video styles and allowed DJs to play solo sets, participate in music battles, and combine genres. Four of the squares projected video that showed social feeds, DJ information, and live shots of the DJs performing. The event was produced by Barkley Kalpak Agency.

The launch of Gwen Stefani’s new collection with Urban Decay took place January 7 at Studio 450 in New York. The bar design was inspired by the collection, using its graphic print on the front with gold circles behind the bar that recalled the eye shadow and blush palettes. Gold glitter champagne bottles customized for the event rounded out the display.

In Style's annual party with Warner Brothers took place on Sunday in a tent constructed by Thomas Ford of Tom Ford Designs at the Beverly Hilton's Oasis Courtyard. The focal point of the party space was a center light installation, a modern take on a deconstructed lantern.

NBC Universal's annual rooftop party took place at the Beverly Hilton. Among the architectural elements in the Moroccan-style space was a sunken water feature that party producer and designer Angel City Designs custom built as the centerpiece of a raised lounge area. The fountain had a faux Moroccan tile bottom with two water sprayers, all accented with white floral petals.

PopSugar's entrance tunnel featured action-oriented phrases about “living your best life.”

The Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series finale, hosted by Bombay Sapphire and the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation from Russell Simmons and Danny Simmons, took place on December 1. The annual party celebrates the 16 finalists of the Artisan Series before announcing the program’s winner. This year's victor was Darius Frank, who won a solo exhibition at next year's Scope Miami Beach; he will collaborate with New York-based nonprofit arts organization Creative Time on a public arts project scheduled to be unveiled in spring 2017. Now in its seventh year, the Artisan Series party, produced by Epsilon, moved from a beachside tent to the 1111 Lincoln Road's seventh-floor garage, allowing for a more vast, industrialized experience framed by skyline views. Guests danced to beats by Jermaine Dupri, who was the event's DJ.

The 20-foot-wide metallic gold structure included 500 feet of LED neon.

HBO’s Cindy Tenner worked with longtime design partner Billy Butchkavitz on the annual bash, which took over the Hilton's Aqua Star Pool and Circa 55 Restaurant and Trader Vic's bar areas. Butchkavitz, renowned for his over-the-top and detail-rich designs, called this year’s event, “about as clean and minimalistic as Billy Butchkavitz can get, which still means lots of vibrant patterns and textures but with a much calmer color palette.” Colors included champagne, gray, khaki, and silver.

Bart Kresa created the event’s animated 3-D projections, and Images by Lighting handled the lighting. Special Event Contractors built the sub floors and pool installation, plus the party’s 24-foot high and 180-foot-long perimeter wall. Billy Butchkavitz worked with his brother, Brian Butchkavitz, on the textiles, custom carpet, tabletop decor, custom furniture, and other details.

The centerpiece of the festivities was a dramatic so-called "Shimmering Pavilion,” floating within the Beverly Hilton's Aqua Star Pool. Floating decor pieces in the exposed section of pool surrounded the pavilion.

For InStyle and Warner Brothers, Thomas Ford of Tom Ford Designs constructed a tent that completely covered the hotel fountain, transforming the Oasis Courtyard venue into what the party billed as “Matrix Glam.” The design concept came to life with a palette of peacock blue, plum, and fuchsia, meant to combine modern technology with an opulence evocative of a retro '70s era. Sponsor Eyelove presented the event.

Below the lantern installation sat the main bar, an onyx grid design meant to incorporate all of the warm tones used throughout the space.

The overall theme of this year’s NBCUniversal viewing- and after-party was 1920s modern deco. Event producer Angel City Designs created the look with a color palette featuring pewter, navy, and fuchsia with copper accents throughout the space. For a supper club-like feel, guests sat at café tables, curved couches, and half-round banquettes, all with a prime view of the multiple 90- and 60-inch plasmas located throughout the tent.

A large, circular center stage topped by a hanging chandelier provided a focal point to watch the entertainment, and then changed over to an elevated dance floor. Flowers came from CJ Matusmoto. DJ Kiss headlined.
