
Turn binge-watching into a group activity at Kimpton’s Hotel Rouge in Washington. A new package for groups of 10 people includes a cozy event space outfitted with a 50-inch television and streaming equipment, oversize beanbag chairs, and catering packages that include bites such as sweet potato tots, chicken wings, club sandwiches, and beverages.

The passed specialty drink was called the "Carousel Cocktail." It contained ginger, lemonade, and vodka and was garnished with fresh mint and a striped paper straw embellished with a miniature carousel horse.

Inspired by the Carousel song "Real Nice Clambake," the dinner menu offered mussels, clams, and poached lobster. For dessert, guests ate raspberry, lime, and white-chocolate-blueberry macarons plated with polka-dotted ribbons. At intermission, they returned to the Graham Room for more desserts including boozy snow cones and miniature cupcakes.

Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario's "Cirque"

The Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario hosted its 14th annual fund-raising gala on April 25 at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex. Instead of traditional floral centerpieces, designer Bill Fulghum decked tables at the circus-theme event with giant pieces of cotton candy.
