
Coffee brand and New York Fashion Week sponsor Lavazza hosted a V.I.P. lounge and café in partnership for Papyrus for attendees at Skylight Clarkson Square from February 8 to 15. Designed by Ken Fulk, the space featured decor including a pink wall with painted zebras and offered guests treats including espresso popcorn made from an original recipe created in the Lavazza Training Center in Turin, Italy.

The premiere party for the upcoming HBO miniseries Big Little Lies took place February 7 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Designed by Billy Butchkavitz, the party featured centerpieces inspired by the Monterey Peninsula, which is the setting of the series.

Create & Cultivate, an online platform and conference series that aims to bring together female creatives and entrepreneurs to network, hosted its first style summit on January 28 at the Colonnade Outlets at Sawgrass Mills near Fort Lauderdale. Fun props—including social-media-friendly hashtags and "at" signs—were available for guests to use.

The Recording Academy’s official Grammy after-party, known as the Grammy Celebration, followed the awards next door to Staples at the Los Angeles Convention Center’s West Hall on February 12. Produced by the Recording Academy’s Brandon Chapman and Rex Supa, working with Angel City Designs, the event featured a neon green outline of the recognizable shape of an Absolut bottle that served as an entrance into a raised bar.

Official Grammy partner Delta Air Lines hosted its pre-awards event on February 9 at Beauty & Essex, adjacent to the new Dream Hollywood hotel. New this year, celebrities on the red carpet were asked to stop and sign two oversize metallic airplanes, mimicking the form of paper airplanes, which decorated the arrivals line.

American Express celebrated the announcement of two new airport lounges in Hong Kong and Philadelphia with a travel-theme event that took place January 31 at Spring Studios. Produced and designed by PMK-BNC and Workshop Worldwide, the event featured decor including a paper airplane arch.

A London-theme design included a colorful neon replica of the city's signature red telephone booth as part of a city-street installation. Guests could listen to music when picking up the phone.

A Nordic area featured an ice bar with the American Express centurion mascot. The bar offered tastings of Akvavit, a Scandinavian flavored spirit. Akvavit infusions included caraway, anise, and citrus.

The 18th annual Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Gala took place February 7 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington. The event showcased four floral designs from Volanni that incorporated red toned flowers, monstera leaves, succulents, lily grass, and accents of mini cymbidiums blossoms for dinner table centerpieces.

Decorative objects within the MKG-produced party space echoed the angular look of the paper plane motif.
