Ronald McDonald House Toronto hosted its annual holiday-time gala at the Carlu in December. McNabb Roick Events reflected the Holiday Chic: Sparkle theme in sequined table linens and the crystal candle holders that served as centerpieces.

In New York, the Sanctuary Hotel's Haven Rooftop has been turned into a ski chalet for the winter season. Available for private events, the fully tented, heated space comes complete with new seasonal drinks, such as peppermint hot cocoa spiked with Bailey's, and a menu of hearty, savory dishes. Revelers also have the option to take a 'ski shot'—four signature shots to share with friends—off of an actual ski.

As a way to introduce its new all-wheel-drive models, British carmaker Jaguar built a larger-than-life snow globe in New York in the height of summer. Hot chocolate is a standard winter beverage, and Met Back Bay in Boston serves flight of four mini glasses: the classic hot chocolate with vanilla chocolate, whipped cream, and mini toasted marshmallows; the espresso, served with an almond biscotti garnish; the caramel sea salt, served with whipped cream and caramel drizzle; and the white chocolate peppermint made with white chocolate, vanilla cream, and crushed peppermint stick. Each flavor also is available as a larger, single version as well as in an alcoholic version.

New York-based chain Mr Bing serves street crepes, a popular Northern Chinese comfort food. The crepes consist of rice, mung bean, and wheat flour batter coated scrambled egg, sesame seeds, and scallions. The crepes are then stuffed with hoisin sauce, crispy chili paste, wontons, and (optional) cilantro, and come in savory options such as the peking roast duck bing (pictured) and sweet options like Nutella. Mr Bing also has a bicycle cart available for catering events.

While officially buying the building before the gala was always the goal, event planner Sam Palmer was careful to ensure the gathering would be successful even if the timing didn’t work out. “We had a million different plans, because quite frankly, a million details needed to go right for that to happen,' he said. 'Our leadership and board worked very, very hard to get us across the finish line, and it was a beautiful moment.”
