Haywood Securities Recognizes Minerals Investors

Recently Haywood Securities spotted an opportunity to wine and dine clients in their industry. The Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada's annual international convention was scheduled for March 6—10, so why not invite clients and prospective clients in town for the event to a private gala? Haywood project manager Cheryl Forsley worked with 10tation Event Catering, Exclusive Affair Rentals, Signature Rentals, and Around the Table to produce a luxurious banquet setting in the main foyer of the Mars Discovery Centre. Although the group didn't develop an overriding event theme, they decided on a metallic silver-and-black colour palette. Silver chiavari chairs framed long tables covered in black and silver Art Deco patterned linens and silver napkins. Brightly coloured centerpiece florals from DiZennio Floral Boutique brightened each table's appearance. The goal of the event was to "make sure our guests had a good time and felt special, welcome, and appreciated," Forsley said.10tation served appetizers such as spicy ahi tuna in a wonton cone with avocado salsa and beef tenderloin atop mini Yorkshire pudding with black truffle oil. Dinner started with a four-salad combo comprising caprese, Caesar, nicoise, and crunchy Asian salad. The main courses were braised beef short ribs with a beet and yukon gold torte and seasonal veggies; seared and baked sea bass; and risotto with sweet peas, artichokes, caramelized leeks, and pecorino cheese.
