Guests were given the red-carpet treatment on February 28 as they sipped cocktails and sampled cuisines at The Plaza on Brickell. The poolside soiree celebrated the debut of the building, the newest development from the Related Group's Jorge Perez, and the beginning of the 25th annual Miami International Film Festival-running until March 9-which showcases films from all over the globe.
As guests arrived, they walked the signature red carpet onto the pool deck for the main event. The Art Deco-inspired deck was scattered with plush white cabanas and lounge chairs for guests to relax upon, with blue-lit bars and pink and blue lighting adding to the Miami ambience. The nearly 2,000 attendees enjoyed an endless supply of champagne and Roberto Cavalli vodka as they sampled cuisines from local Miami restaurants, as well as different cultures. Options included guacamole and tortilla chips from Rosa Mexicano, steak filets from Morton's, the Steakhouse, and tuna tartare served on slices of cucumbers, courtesy of Prime Blue Grille. For dessert guests enjoyed a selection of cookies, cannolis, and chocolate sushi, all provided by Perricone's Marketplace.
V.I.P.s were treated to a private bar and a bevy of hors d'oeuvres served to them in a roped-off area
