In phases, David Judaken has begun his debut of MyHouse, a Hollywood nightclub created to look like a luxury home. Judaken and designer Dodd Mitchell’s collaboration attempts to skate the line between the intimacy of a lounge and the energy of a big club—not to mention the comforts of a house party. “I have always enjoyed the comfort of a house party that just doesn’t exist in your typical nightclub, so with MyHouse I set out to create an environment I would personally relish, and bring that vision to the nightlife space,” Mitchell said in a release. MyHouse is Mitchell’s first new project in Los Angeles in more than two years.
A fully functional modern kitchen doubles as the venue’s main bar, and adjoins a formal dining room. A sunken living room offers lounge-like seating, flat-paneled televisions, chandeliers, and an art installation featuring 15,000 pins. The second-floor master bedroom features a leather bed. Outdoors, there's a fire pit on the patio and a Jacuzzi for guests' use, and in front there is a yard. The design nods to 1960s architecture with crocodile bars, a nickel-scaled ceiling, and dramatic chandeliers. A custom steel table, resembling chopped tree branches, serves as a stylish DJ booth.
MyHouse is not yet officially open to the public, although the Alliance is hosting invitation-only Friday nights throughout the month. The public opening is currently scheduled for late February. The first private event in the space was in December.
The venue will be available for full buyout with a total capacity of 700. It will also be available for partial buyout in some of the spaces: The master bedroom holds 75, the living room 65, and the backyard 125.
