On March 5, K Restaurant and Wine Bar and Nonna’s Trattoria ed Enoteca merged to form a single eatery, K Restaurant. After a decline in patrons for both businesses during the past year, owner and head chef Kevin Fonzo decided to merge the two concepts.
The new venture is housed in the former Nonna’s location inside a 1920s residence in College Park, just northwest of downtown Orlando, and can accommodate groups as large as 180.
The 3,000-square-foot building seats 66 in the main dining room. The space can be divided with heavy curtains into three semiprivate rooms: the 16-seat Green Room and the Fireplace and Back Dining rooms, which each seat 20. An additional 10 seats are available at the bar.
For outdoor events, the covered front and side porches seat 42 or can be combined with the indoor dining area to host 180 for receptions.
The menu changes nightly, with a focus on local produce, meat, and herbs from the restaurant’s garden. Some of Nonna’s signature dishes, like eggplant parmigiana and pork tenderloin on Gorgonzola polenta, remain alongside K’s standard plates, such as fried green tomatoes with crab salad and mushroom-dusted filet mignon with demi-glace.
The restaurant will offer Sunday brunch starting next month.
