Get a group in the Halloween spirit with these theme-y activities and sweets.
1. The "Fright Dome" Halloween attraction at Circus Circus has partnered with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures for the second year to bring together plots from the horror-movie franchise Saw, as well as the film My Bloody Valentine, to two of its five haunted houses. Interactive replicas of the creepy games from the Saw saga (which wraps, by the way, with finale Saw 3D in theaters this Halloween weekend) will be among the the offerings. Owner Jason Egan has also brought in three macabre magicians for the “Show of Magic & Horror.” Fright Dome has aligned with Konami Digital Entertainment to bring visitors elements from its new Saw II: Flesh & Blood video game, along with zombie attacks in a new zone named after Konami’s Zombie Apocalypse. The attraction opened on October 1, and is open from 7 p.m. to midnight multiple days through the end of month. Private tours for groups of four to eight are available for $89.95 per person.
2. Also at Circus Circus, Egan transformed the 13th floor for another creepy tour. Guests board an elevator that transports them to the level, which has been transmogrified with prop hotel furniture that seems to come to life, a mock séance to contact former guests, and other attractions. Faux costumed hotel staff including housekeepers, a bellman, a concierge, and catering employees roam the hallways. The interactive experience allows guests to become the wedding party for a corpse wedding, tour the bellman’s closet for remnants of dead guests, and escape becoming the dinner that catering staff are preparing for the haunted inhabitants. The 13-minute tour goes through 13 unique rooms on the floor. The program began at the start of the month and runs nightly. There is no group rate, but tours can take groups of as many as eight at a time.
3. For a sweet meeting break or gift, the Cupcakery has created holiday-appropriate treats—with decorations that range from playful to gory. The bakery is offering both a Halloween assortment and a "Super Gross" assortment, with decorations that evoke oozing brain matter and severed fingers. The assortments are available for purchase by the dozen for $45 at the Cupcakery’s Summerlin and Eastern locations, and they can be delivered.
