Built in 1926 on an avocado plantation by architect Robert A. Taylor, the Bath Club has remained a staple in Miami Beach as a place for hosting events for celebrities and presidents. In need of a makeover, the club went through a renovation in June, keeping some of the venue's original decor elements.
The historic property's new decor is modern with rustic touches, highlighting original architecture from the 1920s complemented by Ghost chairs, which serve as banquet chairs, and all-white lounge furniture. Each of the nine renovated spaces within the 20,000-square-foot venue (not including the beach and pool deck) have their own look. The billiard room features cathedral ceilings and two billiards tables and can accommodate 100 seated or 125 for a reception, while Driftwood, a contemporary gathering space, holds as many as 150 guests. The lounge area is home to the original inlaid-wood dance floor and holds 250.
Outdoor options include the pool deck, which can seat 100 or host 300 for a reception, the private beach that holds more than 1,000, the 200-seat courtyard, and the private rooftop terrace that overlooks the pool and can hold as many as 200. For large, indoor events, the ballroom, outfitted with chandeliers and floor-to-ceiling windows, can seat 350 or accommodate 500 for a reception.
Members and nonmembers can rent the club for events. The venue only does one event per day and is serviced by Aaron's Catering and Thierry's Catering and Event Design.
