Easter, a quintessential spring holiday, provides an opportunity to showcase fresh, seasonal designs. The holiday also lends itself to family-friendly activities, ranging from petting ducks at a miniature zoo to fighting off a demonic bunny at an egg hunt for adults. In celebration of the upcoming holiday, here's a look at fun ideas for Easter events.
D.I.Y. Crafts

Paula Biggs, creative director and stylist at Frog Prince Paperie, has hosted Easter events that lets guests design their own eggs using confetti-shaped papier-mâché. The activity requires basic materials such as water balloons, newspaper, and glue; Biggs offered a step-by-step tutorial on her website.

D.I.Y. Desserts

For another kid-friendly Easter activity, Biggs suggests letting guests plant marshmallow "carrots" into cupcakes. They can also top the desserts off with sprinkled Oreo crumbs, making the desserts look like miniature carrot patches.

Candy-Colored Hues

Chicago-based designer Debi Lilly has decorated Easter events with bright, springy flowers (including pink tulips), sky-blue linens, and polka-dot table runners.

A Petting Zoo

Costumed Characters

At the 2014 Trump brunch, kids (and willing adults) could pose for photos with two special visitors: the Easter bunny and a freshly hatched chick.

An Extreme Egg Hunt

For a slightly scarier animal encounter, the "Full Bunny Contact Extreme Egg Hunt for Adults" takes place in New York March 23 to 27 at the Clemente. A blend between a cage match and an Easter egg hunt, the event places participants in a cage, where they have 60 seconds to collect as many eggs as they can while three large costumed bunnies try to block them.

Pastel Gift Boxes

For takeaway Easter treats, Chicago-based designer Christine Janda tucks seasonal candies into pastel takeout boxes decked with bright ribbons. For added shine, she also decorates tabletops with candles in metallic vessels.

D.I.Y. Flower Crowns

Janda also leads seasonal workshops on flower-crown making. She recently partnered with beauty, fashion, and lifestyle site Glossed & Found to lead a workshop at Yoga Six in Chicago and brought in flowers and decorations that guests wrapped around a wire base.
