Established 25 years ago, the Allie Awards recognize Atlanta event companies. Awards are doled out in categories such as design, production, and planning, and this year's ceremony was held March 6 at the Georgia Aquarium. The event's theme, "Xperience the Elements," played out in three themed environments that channeled earth, water, and fire. The progressive evening had guests sipping cocktails in a rain-forest-inspired setting, dining in a room that had an underwater vibe, and having desserts and cocktails at a fiery after-party. With Earth Day coming next month, here are fresh ideas for channeling the planet at events.

Chelsea Floral designed the "Earth Element" space. Inspired by a rain forest, the area featured live entertainment from Liquid Sky.

Guests started the evening with cocktails in the "Earth Element" area, which had an entrance that was bathed in green lights.

Centerpieces held natural elements including butterflies, stones, and moss.

Dressed like a fantastical peacock, a strolling performer doubled as a "living table." Events of a Lifetime donated the table.

Dinner took place in the "Water Element," which had deep blue lighting designed to make guests feel as though they were submerged into ocean waters. Active Production and Design built a custom stage set for the space.

Your Event Solution created and designed the "Water Element." The area featured aerialists from Liquid Sky, along with other live entertainment from the group.

Your Event Solutions created a 16-foot-long table with a built-in water feature.

Guests had dinner in the water-theme area. Wolfgang Puck Catering prepared the meal. The salad course contained chopped farmer's market vegetables topped with shaved Parmesan and balsamic vinaigrette.

Other oceanic decor included tall Lucite columns topped with bubble-print lampshades.

For the after-party, guests transitioned to the "Fire Element." The space was created and designed by Unique Event Elements.

AFR Event Furnishings, a sponsor, showcased new products and furniture in each of the "elements." For the fire-inspired lounge, the company brought in red and orange ottomans and throw pillows in fiery hues.

Wolfgang Puck's after-party desserts included a variation on Twinkies made with red velvet cake.
