Rethink Breast Cancer’s 17th annual fund-raiser took place October 12 at Rebel in Toronto. The event, which was designed in house, featured a Wild West theme. The host organization’s logo was displayed in a pink neon sign, surrounded by haystacks, cactus cutouts, and other on-theme props.

Italian beer brand Peroni Nastro Azzurro partnered with nonprofit Art Production Fund to launch the third edition of its traveling pop-up experience, which highlights forward-thinking artists and creatives, October 18 to 20 at 463 West Street in New York. The event, which was produced by Troika/Mission Group, featured architectural designer Jenny Sabin’s “Luster,” an illuminated canopy structure that operated as both a functional bar space and an interactive art installation. Throughout November, the pop-up will travel to Los Angeles, Miami, and Washington and feature installations from different artists.

The New York event also featured “The Glass Garden Lost and Found: Of Healing and Knowledge,” an edible art installation of carved sugar flowers created by candy couture artist Maayan Zilberman.

A life-size letter “B,” nodding to the name of the event, was wrapped in a pink paisley bandana pattern.

The eighth annual IMEX America meeting industry convention took place October 16 to 18 at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas. The 2018 show's overall theme was "legacy," and many discussions revolved around the impact event planners can have on the world. A "legacy wall" on the show floor asked attendees to write down what their legacy will be.

Tea brand Tetley hosted a “rage room” experience for consumers October 19 to 21 at the House of VR in Toronto. A wall displayed white teacups inscribed with blue words such as "weak," "timid," "delicate," and "fragile." The cups were examples of what attendees could smash with baseball bats.

The inaugural Nights of the Jack festival kicked off October 11 and runs through November 4 at King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas. Produced by a group of Los Angeles event veterans, the festival has some 5,000 hand-carved jack-o-lanterns along the half-mile trail. Artists from across the country carved the pumpkins, and New York-based producer Debbi Katz handled the set build. A solar system-theme display has a pumpkin for each planet; in the background, pumpkins carved with stars hang against a space-inspired backdrop.
