On Monday, SBE will celebrate the launch of its new hotel, SLS Beverly Hills, with a bell-ringing ceremony. The company enlisted the help of designer Philippe Starck to transform the property, which was formerly a Le Meridian hotel.
An 11,500-square-foot hotel lobby features a private area reserved for hotel guests, including three private dining rooms found in restaurant Tres, and the open-to-the-public Bazaar space, featuring a retail shop curated by designer Murray Moss that displays goods in freestanding vitrine cases. The Bazaar will also offer a collection of dining options, such as tapas bar Rojo y Blanca, and Patisserie, which serves baked goods and desserts.
James Beard award-winning chef José Andrés will oversee the property’s culinary program, which includes a catering division available for banquets and meetings. The hotel has 13 meeting spaces—the largest of which spans 4,375-square-feet—and provides amenities like audiovisual-production services, video-conferencing systems, wireless Internet, and tips for hosting green events.
The hotel’s 297 guest rooms are stocked with custom furniture collections, which Starck created exclusively for the hotel. Seven suites have Kinesis equipment from Italian fitness-equipment manufacturer Technogym, and trainers are available for in-room workout sessions. The Kinesis equipment is also available in the hotel’s gym. Guests who would rather relax than work out can book a treatment in one of six private spa rooms, or lounge in one of seven private cabanas located beside the rooftop’s two pools.
