Last Friday, chef Michael Lachowicz of Winnetka's Restaurant Michael opened Wally & Agador's, a new fancy sandwich shop in Lakeview. A menu of savories named after famous divas includes the Judy Garland—a vegetarian option with olive tapenade, sliced artichocke hearts, Robiola cheese, and grilled portabello mushrooms—and the meatier Divine Miss M., with twin medallions of grilled beef tenderloin, Roquefort cheese spread, caramelized onions, and bacon lardons. The seafood-based Esther Williams dresses a lobster and scallop sausage with butter lettuce and thyme mayo, and other options are dubbed the Elton John, the Marilyn Monroe, and the Mama Cass. Sandwiches run from $7 to $12 apiece; the menu also offers sides such as potato salad and chilled ratatouille, and desserts like Valrhona chocolate fallen souffles and Tahitian vanilla panna cotta. Lachowicz and his staff will deliver to offices and event spaces in the city and suburbs, and can work with any group size.
