1. GLOBES GIFS: It's like an event never happened if it doesn't spawn several GIFs. The Golden Globes' memorable moments include Aziz Ansari’s “that’s racist” dance, Quentin Tarantino’s spit take, and Taylor Swift’s McKayla Maroney eyes. New York Times: http://nyti.ms/X8K3mE

Read BizBash's coverage of the Globes parties, from In Style, HBO, NBC, the Weinsteins, AMC, Fox, and more: http://bizba.sh/13vVDxq

2. CHAMPAGNE GLITCH: The menu for an inauguration luncheon includes a California dessert wine that the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies called "Korbel Natural, Special Inaugural Cuvee Champagne, California." The label is causing a bit of an international incident. Los Angeles Times: "The Champagne Bureau, a Washington lobby for the French Champagne industry, is frothing like a newly opened magnum of Chateau de Rothschild. Real Champagne, the bureau insists,  can only come from the region of Champagne, France, and bubbly from anywhere else should only claim to be "sparkling wine," no matter how good it tastes." http://lat.ms/13hFA7n

Meanwhile, organizers are using a new approach to selling tickets to the Ambassadors Inaugural Ball: robo-calls from actual ambassadors. Washington Post: "The ball is one of the many new entries into the inaugural party fray, which is why organizers hoping to sell 1,500 tickets ($100- $750) tried the unusual sales strategy." http://wapo.st/X10AZ7

3. FASHION HACKATHON: The nerds are invited to Fashion Week. Women's Wear Daily: "Hearst Magazines, in partnership with Google, Klout, Microsoft, and Singly, will host a two-day technology-driven event during New York Fashion Week. From February 9 to February 10, developers will use programming instructions … to create apps and programs with a fashion lean." http://wwd.us/VdUIyF

Speaking of fashion, Cute Circuit makes a line of dresses containing thousands of LEDs that displays scrolling tweets sent with hashtag #tweetthedress. Video: http://www.cutecircuit.com/cutecircuit-twitter-dress/
