11 Spas That Cater to Large Groups

These spas are located in hotels with meeting facilities, making it easy for planners to add wellness activities to the program.

Wellness activities are an increasingly popular option to offer attendees at meetings and events. Activities such as massages, facials, and yoga can help people get more energized and focused, as well as retain more information while in sessions. They can also provide an alternative to traditional ideas for teambuilding and networking. Here’s a look at 11 spas that welcome large groups.

The Spa at Four Seasons Resort Orlando
The Spa at Four Seasons Resort Orlando

The Spa at Four Seasons Resort Orlando is available for buyout and can offer more than 300 50-minute services such as massages, facials, and body treatments per day. There is also a salon that can offer 12 treatments per hour, such as styling for hair and makeup, plus manicures and pedicures. During a buyout, the spa can also set up a private lounge serving fruit, pastries, coffee, and mimosa. There’s also a Spa Solarium Lounge where guests can relax in zero-gravity loungers before and after treatments, and staff can offer services such as wellness coaching. Attendees can also participate in group tennis and fitness classes, such as yoga, spinning, and boot camp.

MGM Grand Spa
MGM Grand Spa

The MGM Grand Spa in Las Vegas has 24 treatment rooms offering massages and skin and nail services. Groups can make arrangements to use the facility before and after traditional hours. In addition to full buyouts, smaller groups can reserve the V.I.P. suite, where services can be provided for 10 people. The spa menu includes specialty treatments such as the “Dreaming Ritual” that includes a foot bath, desert rose salt scrub, mud wrap, and massage, as well as a variety of express services that can be done between meetings. The spa’s fitness trainers can lead customized group classes for any skill level. The facility also has a whirlpool, sauna, steam room, lockers, and showers.

Spa at Red Rock by Well & Being
Spa at Red Rock by Well & Being

The Spa at Red Rock by Well & Being opened June 6 at Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas. The facility can accommodate 230 spa treatments per day, and planners can reserve the entire facility for 450 people. In addition to traditional treatments for the face and body, the spa offers fitness classes, nutrition guidance, mind-body therapies, and integrative medicine. Management can also create a custom program that includes activities such as vertical wall yoga, outdoor hiking, and stress-management workshops.

Carillon Miami Beach

A variety of wellness classes are available for groups at the Carillon Miami Beach. The hotel’s 70,000-square-foot spa and fitness center offers “Sip N Spin” spinning classes before and after drinks, as well as boot camps, yoga, rock climbing, Shamanic Journeys, group sound and color acupuncture sessions, guided meditation, progressive nutrition and wellness lectures, juice mixology classes, and tastings. The facility also has four pools and five movement studios, including one that is outside.

Omni Homestead Resort
Omni Homestead Resort

The spa at the Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia, has 28 treatment rooms, an adults-only spa garden, and a European-inspired aqua thermal suite where guests can experience the extremes of hot and cold therapies. The spa also gives guests an opportunity to experience natural hot springs that flow from the Allegheny Mountains onto the property. There’s a large fitness facility that offers classes in aerobics, weight training, yoga, meditation, and more, as well as exercise physiologists who can do fitness assessments and create custom programs. The resort is celebrating its 250th anniversary this year.

Ritz-Carlton Spa Orlando
Ritz-Carlton Spa Orlando

The Ritz-Carlton Spa Orlando is a 40,000-square-foot facility located at Grande Lakes Orlando, home of both the Ritz-Carlton Orlando and the JW Marriott. The facility has 40 treatment rooms and can do 28 massages, eight facials, and five manicure-pedicure combinations per hour. There are also lounges, a wellness center, a lap pool, and a spa cafe. The spa can create a custom menu of services for attendees, or planners can offer each guest a pre-determined dollar amount to spend as they choose.

Well & Being Spa at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess
Well & Being Spa at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess

The Well & Being Spa at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Arizona is available for buyout and can accommodate more than 300 people for an all-day event that includes fitness and wellness classes, spa services, use of the pool, and more. Spa staff can offer about 26 spa services per hour and 12 salon services per hour. To get attendees moving, the facility can provide instruction in activities such as aerial yoga, Pilates, spinning, and a TRX suspension system. The spa can also be used for receptions and other special events for as many as 150 people.

Eforea Spa at Hilton Orlando
Eforea Spa at Hilton Orlando

The Eforea Spa at Hilton Orlando houses a spa, salon, and fitness center. The 15,000-square-foot facility has 15 treatment rooms, two couples rooms, three facial rooms, a steam room, and a 3,900-square-foot fitness facility. For large groups, the staff can offer about 150 50-minute massages, 36 50-minute facials, and 60 manicures and pedicures during a 12-hour day. The spa can also provide group classes such as yoga, Zumba, and water aerobics, and game-based activities such as scavenger hunts.

The Spa at Trump
The Spa at Trump

The Spa at Trump at the Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago is a 23,000-square-foot facility with 12 treatment suites for massages and body treatments. Amenities within each suite vary but can include a Vichy shower, a Swiss shower, and air jet tubs. The facility also has a 95-foot pool, saunas, steam rooms, and a fitness center. The spa’s group coordinator can create a custom menu of services to meet attendees’ needs.

Spa Solage
Spa Solage

Spa Solage at Solage Calistoga in Northern California is a 20,000-square-foot facility with 14 treatment rooms for massages, facials, body scrubs, and more. Planners can offer attendees a unique experience with the spa’s signature “Mudslide.” The detoxifying treatment starts with the application of purifying mud to the entire body, followed by a soak in the spa’s geo-thermal mineral water, and ending with time in sound chairs, which blend soothing music with gentle vibrations. Spa Solage also has a gym and movement studio for Pilates, yoga, and spinning classes, and it offers classes in wellness and alternative health.

Condado Vanderbilt Hotel
Condado Vanderbilt Hotel

The Condado Vanderbilt Hotel in Puerto Rico has a 10,000-square-foot spa that includes a traditional Turkish bath known as a hamman. As many as 12 people at a time can experience the hydrotherapy, which combines specific levels of heat in the floors, walls, and benches with exfoliating techniques, massage, and showers. Guests finish the treatment with a warm cup of mint tea. The facility also offers facials, mud wraps, and massages.

For the launch of the catering and event program at New York’s WTC860 - Riviera at the World Trade event space in December 2015, Riviera Caterers built a 24-foot-long, 8-foot-high pretzel wall. The interactive wall held 600 pretzels of different flavors, including garlic parsley, cheddar, cinnamon, salted, and plain, along with dipping sauces. The setup is customizable and can be converted for a variety of displays such as a salad or bagel bar.
