Locolat, a new cafe and chocolate shop in Adams Morgan, specializes in Belgian chocolates. All of Locolat's confections are made in-house by Belgium-born pastry chef and owner Niel Piferoen, who creates fruit- and nut-filled bonbons as well as more exotic flavors like tequila and orange (tequila-infused orange bread pudding squares covered with a milk chocolate glaze), and croquante truffles (hazelnut butter cream with crisped rice rolled in dark, white and milk chocolate shavings). A box of 24 assorted chocolates retails for $52.90, but Piferoen can create custom assortments for corporate gifts. Bulk discounts are available for a minimum order of 100 boxes of chocolate, and Locolat can print boxes with logos for orders of 500 boxes or more.
