
The National Geographic Channel celebrated its 15th anniversary after its TCA presentation on January 6 at the Langham Huntington, Pasadena. The network celebrated with an intricate cake designed by the Butter End Cakery in Santa Monica, California. The cake featured a levitating, spinning top tier, a middle tier with the network's logo atop a globe, and a bottom tier that depicted scenes from the channel's shows.

A silk-screening station let guests customize versions of one of Stefani’s signature looks: a cutoff T-shift with Old English lettering. Guests could choose from two colors of T-shirts and four colors for the print, which featured the collection logo.

Fresh Wata's custom Boulevardier bar comes apart easily and can be rebuilt in an event space. The piece was designed to take up less space on trucks and fit easily into venues with small doorways.

Toronto's Barchef has a winter cocktail known as the Night Blossom. The bourbon-and-Scotch drink has innovative ingredients that include almond and maple snow, spherified patchouli and amaro, balsam fir and honey julienne, rosemary syrup, and more. The cocktail is poured table-side.

At the Library Bar in Chicago, the One Flew cocktail is served in a birdcage. The large-batch rum punch, spiced with tiki bitters, serves 15 guests. Its ingredients include the Italian liqueur Galliano, which a bar rep says is "making a comeback."

In Style's annual party with Warner Brothers took place on Sunday in a tent constructed by Thomas Ford of Tom Ford Designs at the Beverly Hilton's Oasis Courtyard. The focal point of the party space was a center light installation, a modern take on a deconstructed lantern.

NBC Universal's annual rooftop party took place at the Beverly Hilton. Among the architectural elements in the Moroccan-style space was a sunken water feature that party producer and designer Angel City Designs custom built as the centerpiece of a raised lounge area. The fountain had a faux Moroccan tile bottom with two water sprayers, all accented with white floral petals.

Transfernation, an app created by New York University seniors Samir Goel and Hannah Dehradunwala in 2013, aims to simplify the donation of leftover food from meetings and events. The "Uber for food rescue" app allows organizations with food to donate and volunteers who transport it to track the process. The app, which has donated more than 10,000 pounds of food since its launch, has coordinated food pickups from Indeed, Cater2.me, and Clinton Global Initiative's annual meeting in September.

The launch of Gwen Stefani’s new collection with Urban Decay took place January 7 at Studio 450 in New York. The bar design was inspired by the collection, using its graphic print on the front with gold circles behind the bar that recalled the eye shadow and blush palettes. Gold glitter champagne bottles customized for the event rounded out the display.

Co-working space WeWork brought its series of warehouse parties to Miami for an event at Thompson Miami Beach, during Art Basel on December 3. Hosted with artists FriendsWithYou, the gathering had a “house party” theme. DJ DZA played a set of late 1990s, hip-hop, and old-school music at a pop-art Barbra Streisand DJ booth. The Workshop produced the event.
