Bargain: Rory Kotin of Scribe Ink creates elegant place cards in a variety of styles. Most simple scripts with rounded letters—like the ones pictured—done in black ink on regular paper surfaces cost $1.75 per card. Colored inks cost more, as do more flowery styles.
Mid-Price: Instead of the usual place cards (which she certainly can create), Anne Robin can mix things up—putting names or table numbers onto a river rock for $2.25, or apples for $5 each.
Splurge: Maisner Calligraphy Studio can combine the menu with the name card. Bernard Maisner writes out the menu for $350 to $550, then engraves it on paper and handwrites a guest’s name at the top of each menu for $3 to $5. (All calligraphy prices are based upon the style of the script.)
