Spin It
For the New York premiere of Waitress, Basik Design created playful diner-themed invites in the form of a spinning cherry pie, a nod to the main character’s penchant for baking. By rotating the missing slice, guests revealed event details, as well as a photo of the movie’s star, Keri Russell.
Unfold It
For the grand opening of the Pearl concert theater at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Kira Evans Design created a pop-up invitation depicting the brand-new venue. Invitees opened the storybook-style invite to find event information, and then lifted a second flap for a sneak peak at the theater, in the form of photos of an architectural model.
Flip It
For Condé Nast Traveler’s Hot List issue party in New York in April, the magazine designed a hot-pink flip book depicting a cartoon airplane skywriting the words “hot list,” produced by Color Optics. When guests were done playing, they could look to the back of the book for the necessary event details.
Sprout It
Remember sprouting seeds in kindergarten? To mark the debut of a new line of jeans made with organic cotton, Italian clothing company Replay sent guests Egglings, egg-shaped ceramic planters filled with soil and preplanted flower seeds.
