MILLER LITE HOSTS TWITTER AWARD SHOW: As summer barbecue season kicks off this Memorial Day weekend, Miller Lite is hosting a contest on Twitter for the best summer-theme photos that the brand likens to an online award show. Adweek: “Photos will be judged in six categories including best summer games, best BBQ and best #TBT. The beer brand and DigitasLBi will monitor tweets in real time all day in the agency's BrandLive Center and give out a total of 15 prizes including Nascar tickets, grills and beer can koozies. 2. GETTING READY FOR THE EUROVISION FINALE: The Eurovision Song Contest—the massively popular singing competition that once helped launch the band Abba—holds its finale on Saturday. 3. HOW GOLDMAN SACHS USES INVESTOR MEETINGS TO SEND MESSAGE: The New York-based banking firm Goldman Sachs hosted its annual shareholders’ meeting in San Francisco on Thursday—along with a host of private events—to send the message that it wants to do more business in Silicon Valley. The New York Times: “Although the old guard Wall Street bank has its headquarters in Lower Manhattan, Goldman has often showcased its presence around the country through its annual investor meetings, including at its offices in Salt Lake City and Dallas. On this trip, the firm’s top executives — including [chairman and C.E.O. Lloyd] Blankfein; Gary D. Cohn, Goldman’s president; and David M. BOSTON:  Create, a celebration of art, food, and drink, will take place on June 7 at Battery Wharf Hotel.

CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA:  To mark its 125th anniversary, Lipton will host the first Be More Tea Festival on October 24 in North Charleston’s Riverfront Park at Naval Yard. The festival will include games, attractions, and live music from Passion Pit, the Roots, Walk the Moon, and St. Lucia.

CHICAGO:  Trump Chicago will soft-open three new event spaces this month. The spaces span a total of 6,600 square feet, and include the Riverside Gallery, the Riverside Room, and the Bridgeview Room.

HOUSTON:  Texas Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus will hold its annual conference August 3-6 at the Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center.

LAS VEGAS:  The new 4,100-square-foot American restaurant Therapy will open in June in downtown Las Vegas.

The a cappella group Mo5aic will return to Las Vegas with a new residency at Bally’s, kicking off June 5.

LOS ANGELES:  The three final designs for a proposed renovation and expansion of the Los Angeles Convention Center are on public display through June 4 at the convention center. The finalists—AC Martin Inc. and LMN Architects, Gensler and Lehrer Architects, and HMC Architects and Populous—will make public presentations on June 2, and authorities expect to make a selection by the end of the year.

The J. Paul Getty Trust announced that it will award the third annual J. Paul Getty Medal to architect Frank Gehry at a dinner at the Getty Center on September 28.

The Hammer Museum announced that actress Diane Keaton and artist Paul McCarthy will be honored at this year’s Gala in the Garden on October 10. Bottega Veneta will sponsor.

Classic Party Rentals provided all the rentals for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Super Saturday sale in Santa Monica on May 16. The company donated more than $25,000 in tents, tables, and other rentals including 200 garment racks and 4,000 hangers. Descanso tables, picnic tables and benches, umbrellas, and more than 800 chairs and lounge seating pieces came from Designer8 Furniture.

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA:  Tuesday at Marlins Park, Miami will kick off one of three simultaneous routes in the Unified Relay Across America to deliver the Special Olympics Flame of Hope to the games in Los Angeles. Top local fund-raisers and local Special Olympic athletes will participate in the relay, which will run through all 50 states.

NEW YORK:  The Jazz Age Lawn Party events will take place on Colonels Row, Governors Island, on June 13-14 and August 15-16. The event is celebrating its 10th anniversary and will have entertainment on two stages and a new gourmet food court.

The Bonnie restaurant in Astoria has opened a new outdoor space called the Bar Garden. The 100-person venue features custom wood tables, a retractable awning, and an on-site herb garden that will be incorporated into the botanically inspired cocktails.

ORLANDO:  Zentila, a meetings management platform, has launched illuminate3P, a new product developed for third-party and independent meeting planners.

SAN FRANCISCO:  The American Craft Council San Francisco show will take place at Fort Mason Center July 31-August 2. More than 220 artisans will showcase wares including textiles, jewelry, sculptures, and woodwork.

TORONTO:  Summer Solstice: Boots & Bling will take place on June 25. The event will have a western theme, and will raise funds for St. Joseph’s Health Centre Pediatric Emergency.

WASHINGTON, D.C.:  Carly Rae Jepsen, Wilson Phillips, Amber, En Vogue, and Katy Tiz will perform as part of the Capital Pride Concert on June 14. It’s the event’s 40th anniversary.
