This year's January 9 gala in Miami had less of a backyard-barbecue feel than previous iterations, with a look modeled on a French garden. Greenery, high hedges, silver tones, and amber lighting all added to the sophisticated, outdoorsy vibe. The event took place at the YoungArts Campus and Wow Factor handled decor. Starr Events also worked on the benefit.

In January, the Walrus Foundation hosted its annual gala at the Fermenting Cellar in Toronto. The event paid homage to the Canadian city, and the skyline appeared in imagery throughout the event. Tabletops were decked with miniature renderings of the Toronto skyline, created in paper by artist Kalpna Patel.

Guests enjoyed an intimate dinner inspired by the day’s harvest at a private residence. A portion of ticket sales was donated to Feed Supper, an ongoing campaign to fight hunger in America. This October, the dinner series will move to Napa Valley.

White floral arrangements in blue water were lined with small black gravel to resemble the coral and sand at the bottom of the ocean floor. Simmering black-blue tablecloths added to the “under the sea” effect.

Hosted by Kristin Tice Studeman and Surf Lodge owner Jayma Cardoso, the dinner series kicked off on July 7 at Surf Lodge in Montauk.

The Chicago Botanic Garden’s fall fund-raiser, the Harvest Ball, took place on garden grounds September 22. To underscore the autumnal theme, Botanicals' arrangements of roses also held golden gourds and pumpkins.

Held in late September at Skylight One Hanson in Brooklyn, BAM’s 30th Next Wave gala featured floral decor by Fleurs Bella. Some guests dined at the former bank's deposit slip tables, where the built-in lamps were engulfed in greenery, roses, and calla lilies.
