On Monday night, the Michael Romeo Group added to its mix of nightspots (FUR Nightclub, Lotus Lounge, Tattoo Bar, and Midtown) with the opening of the cavernous 3,300-square-foot lounge Midtown Loft. The third-floor venue, one floor above Midtown and reachable by narrow stairs or a small industrial elevator, has exposed brick walls, tile floors, and a brown and red palette. The capacity is 260 guests.
The front of the space, which can be used as a stage, has a raised platform lined with faux leather banquettes and modern cocktail tables. The spacious central section contains a 26-foot bar, three communal high-top tables with 27 stools, and a DJ booth. At the rear of the lounge, partly hidden by a chest-high wall divider, is a gaming area with Foosball, billiard, and shuffleboard tables as well as two computer stations. Five 52-inch flat-screen TVs punctuate the loft.
Midtown Loft is available for full buyout and can be combined with Midtown for a total of 6,600-square-feet.
