In a town where nightclubs come and go as the fickle population searches for the next great thing, one venue is heading that potential problem off at the pass. Premiere, the new nightlife destination from Vinny Laresca (the man behind Villa and SBE nightlife group), is a 5,000-square-foot space with a theater theme designed to change with the seasons. For its opening this month, Premiere is set as a midcentury Spanish theater inspired by the works of Gaudí and Dalí, but the venue will undergo revivals and reopenings throughout the year: Think Italian opera house or Japanese Kabuki theater.
The venue aims to create the feel of a theater, with props, staging, and theatrical details. Kristofer Keith designed the space, which is bordered by arches, raised seating, and a 100-foot-long bar. Opposing staircases lead to a second level, which overlooks the dance floor and DJ booth. The upper level has an additional full-service bar, as well as balcony seating. The venue has room for 410.
A menu includes comfort snacks with a European twist. Personal pizzas and gourmet panini are on offer, along with assorted cheese plates, fresh quesadillas, and baked chicken wings. Seasonal specialty drinks are mixed at the bars, while a selection of custom-made shots available by the bottle or half bottle at the V.I.P. tables.
