At Showtime Premiere for 'House of Lies,' Faces of the Cast Deck Warhol-Style Printed Pillows

Alesandra Dubin
January 12, 2012

Showtime premiered House of Lies with a party hosted by chairman and C.E.O. Matthew Blank and president of entertainment David Nevins at the soaring AT&T Center downtown. New Showtime executive vice president of communications Trisha Cardoso oversaw the program. The party was the network's first larger-scale premiere event with her at the helm.

"We selected the location," said the event's producer, Shari Kaufman, "because it fit perfectly with the look, feel, and modern corporate vibe of [the show]"—not to mention sweeping views of the city. Kaufman worked with Along Came Mary to create a theater on the 30th floor, with a combination of seating and standing room. (Behind the scenes, the team staged a kitchen on the 32nd floor and in a parking lot). The group brought in white suede seats, silver couches, and aluminum communal tables with sleek, tall white chairs.

Following the screening, guests were escorted by elevator to the 32nd floor for the party. The completely windowed space created a dramatic backdrop for the decor, including modern white sectionals and ottomans, white shag rugs, and silver arched lamps. Projections of the show's characters shone on some of the walls, and for another colorful, punchy touch, cast members' faces decked Warhol-inspired pillows on the couches.

Vanity Fair and Heineken were event sponsors.
