“The dining scene was set with elaborate custom draping and [the company’s] Berlin rectangular and square chrome dining tables were topped with glowing candles and centerpieces. Patterned china, gold flatware, and lush florals were reflected on the mirror-top tables for the intimate gathering. Edgardo Zamora ColorPhoto: Gloria MesaAs the founder and lead designer of Revelry, Los Angeles-based Zamora (@revelryeventdesign) possesses a design aesthetic that’s an eclectic mix of old world and modern, and he is known for his fabric treatments for ceilings and walls, custom-designed table linens, and furniture installations. After witnessing Zamora expertly recover from a near-disastrous event mishap, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston hired him to design their wedding. That, he says, was the proudest moment of his career so far.

For the Institute of Contemporary Art’s fund-raiser, “we transformed the raw tunnel-like space into a sparkling, cosmic environment that connected with the Institute’s forward-thinking position in the art world. To juxtapose the austere architecture and create a warmer, more refined feeling, we conceptualized a colorful, nebula-inspired lighting treatment that completely transformed the mood of the space. We incorporated hundreds of feet of mirrored circle pattern panels overhead for a shimmering effect, and we added high-end, luxurious elements including 6-foot-tall crystal candelabras to balance the height of the room, illuminated cut-crystal spheres to add glow to the tables, and lush, vibrant floral arrangements.”

“This was extremely exciting and challenging for us because we were essentially building out an entire store that was on par with the extremely high standard of YSL…. While officially buying the building before the gala was always the goal, event planner Sam Palmer was careful to ensure the gathering would be successful even if the timing didn’t work out. “We had a million different plans, because quite frankly, a million details needed to go right for that to happen,' he said. 'Our leadership and board worked very, very hard to get us across the finish line, and it was a beautiful moment.”
