Though the snacks looked ready to pluck off the tables, food was presented more formally, with servers from Daniel and Daniel passing appetizers. There was also a conveyer belt delivering sliders to the crowd.

Hot Chocolate Sticks

Desserts emporium Popbar offers a do-it-yourself drink dubbed hot chocolate on a stick. Available in dark, milk, or vanilla chocolate, the sticks are intended to be stirred into a mug of steamed milk. The New York-based business caters events, but also offers the treats in gift boxes ($17.99 for a pack of six).

Walrus Foundation Gala

The Walrus Foundation held its annual gala at the Fermenting Cellar in Toronto on January 20. Tabletops were decked with miniature renderings of the Toronto skyline, created in paper by artist Kalpna Patel.

Abigail Kirsch in New York created smoked cheddar-glazed mini doughnuts dusted with peanut brittle for a surprising sweet-and-savory twist on a classic glazed doughnut. To serve them, the caterer repurposed a plate display rack by turning it on its side and threading the doughnuts through.

Absolut Lime and Spotify’s Pre-Grammy Party

The party, which was produced by creative agency MKG, featured dangling lime decor over the bar, along with a neon green Absolut "infinity bottle," a digital wheatpaste wall, and a custom T-shirt distressing station.
