Toronto's 10-day Luminato Festival kicked off on June 18 at Hearn Generating Station with an opening party that combined the themes of nature and industry, which gave the event a post-apocalyptic feel. Lancôme Canada, the event's sponsor, offered makeup applications in a flower-filled dome.

Inspired by an image of laser lighting, Evoke's design team used neon green and pink tape to turn the dance floor into the event's laser-esque focal point.

Neon rods served as table centerpieces. "We wanted something that gave height, but we also wanted something that wasn't breaking the bank," Evoke president Jodi Moraru said.

The desserts, provided by Occasions Caterers, were what Moraru calls a "chocoholic's dream." Chocolate-flavored cupcakes, layered cake pops, and parfaits were presented on a conveyor belt.
