About 1.3 million comedy fans take in the funny fest every year at ticketed events and free outdoor shows. Weird Al Yankovic performed a massive outdoor show in 2015, and Neil Patrick Harris hosted four galas. Vidéotron presented. Next: July 2016

In 2015, the 11-day event had record-breaking attendance of 200,500 and featured 452 public screenings of 210 films on 17 screens across the city. Scotiabank was the presenting platinum partner. Next: April 28-May 8, 2016

The biggest, longest-running fringe festival in North America presented 1,600 performances of 207 shows in 2015 with attendance of about 600,000. A new app made it easier to find show information and buy tickets. ATB Financial presented the event. Next: August 11-21, 2016

Following last year’s 20th anniversary success, 2015 attendance is expected to grow to 127,000 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Highlights at the pop culture fan fest will be a Walking Dead panel and a Star Trek Voyager reunion. Next: September 3-5, 2015

More than 100,000 theatregoers were expected to take in one or more of the four plays at Vancouver’s waterfront Vanier Park in 2015. Other events at the summer festival included fireworks, family nights, and wine tastings. BMO was the main stage sponsor. Next: Summer 2016
